“When I became a registered celebrant in January 2007, little did I know that 13+ years later I would be able to say that I have conducted over 2000 ceremonies – that includes weddings, funerals and naming ceremonies. During this time I have met some wonderful people; people who have shared their amazing stories with me and who have trusted me to create a unique and special ceremony for them, and, it has to be said, that I have very often shared their happy and sad tears!
One of the loveliest things about my life as a celebrant is that for some families, I have conducted a number of funerals, a number of weddings and very often baby naming ceremonies too, creating some special relationships along the way.
I have had the pleasure of conducting weddings in some truly beautiful venues, big and small, and really can’t pick a favourite. Sometimes it’s the small, intimate ceremonies in someone’s back garden that are the most touching. Picking a favourite venue, a favourite couple, a favourite wedding is almost impossible…..I have so many favourites! Conducting family & friends weddings are always a thrill of course, but again I just can’t pick one favourite.
In recent years of course I’ve had the pleasure of conducting same sex marriages which has been a real privilege, and so, I’ve chosen to share a photograph from one of the first same sex marriages I conducted back in December 2017 for the lovely Debbie and Natalie at Haddo House: a beautiful day, a beautiful couple and a beautiful venue………”
