Lisa Ormsby

The first Humanist ceremony I attended was my uncle’s funeral. I vividly remember how accurately it captured his personality. Even though it was a sad time, the happy memories and funny stories really lifted everyone’s mood. The service was very much a true reflection of his character and how he lived his life.

And so, I had discovered Humanism. It soon became clear to me that the values of Humanism aligned with how I live my life. Family and friends are so important to me, as is treating everyone with respect. I live by one of my dad’s mottos – “It’s nice to be nice”!

Later, I was offered the opportunity to train with the Humanist Association Scotland, and am proud to be a registered Humanist Celebrant.

It would be a privilege to create a memorable ceremony for you that is entirely personal and unique.
