My husband and I were married in 2021 and were fortunate to find a Humanist Celebrant from the Humanist Association Scotland to conduct our ceremony. We were so grateful for the incredible work that went into making our ceremony so personal and heartfelt.
When the opportunity to join the team came up this year I jumped at the chance. After being a secondary school teacher for twelve years I knew many of skills I had acquired in front of a class would allow me to deliver the same level of ceremony which we had received.
I firmly believe that a funeral service should be a celebration of a person’s life and should give family and friends the opportunity to share fond memories and pay tribute to their loved one. As a result I work closely with families to ensure that the service gives them the opportunity to honour their loved ones and their final wishes.
I’m currently based in East Renfrewshire and am able to travel across central Scotland to support families at important moments. I can be contacted at emma@humanistassociationscotland.com
