HAS donates to World Child Cancer

Our Chairman, Duncan Robertson, was delighted to attend an event in Edinburgh last week in aid of World Child Cancer

Paediatric oncologist, Tim Eden (a representative of World Child Cancer) had this to say:

“Dear Duncan and Pat,
Firstly can I say a big thank you for coming to the Reception last night and even more the wonderful cheque you presented from HAS to support the work of World Child Cancer.
It is greatly appreciated. Please will you pass on to all the team at HAS a big thank you also from World Child Cancer.
All the best of wishes Tim”

The Humanist Association Scotland has been a proud supporter of the organisation for some time and the event reiterated why charitable giving is at the heart of what we do.

Our most recent donation will go towards supporting ongoing treatment for 14 children with cancer in Cameroon for one year.

Sadly, treatment costs for childhood cancer fall to families to pay which can be financially devastating and often results in the abandonment of such treatment. Supporting these costs enables more children to finish their treatment, improving their chances of survival.

Over the past 10 years, World Child Cancer have supported over 20,000 children and their families across our programmes. And, with our support and the support of many others who contribute, World Child Cancer are moving closer towards their vision of a world where every child with cancer has access to the best possible treatment and care.
